Managing Licences

You can manage your UPDD licences and re-download the drivers we have built for you at My Touch-Base. From there you can see every licence key and seat, free a seat so it can be used on another computer, and get your drivers again at any time.

Signing in

There are two ways in:

  • With an account. Click Login (top right) and sign in with your email address and password.
  • With an email link. Enter the email address your licence or driver was sent to and click Send me a link. We email you a secure link that signs you in for one hour. No password is needed. If the link has expired, simply request a new one.

If no email arrives, check your spam folder. If your licence came with your hardware, was supplied by another company or was bought for you by someone else, it may not be registered to your email address. In that case contact us and we will help you.

Company accounts can be linked to a company email domain, so that anyone with an address at that domain can see the company's licences and downloads.

Viewing your licences

Open the Licences tab. Your licence keys are listed on the left. Select one to see the seats it includes. For every seat you can see:

  • whether it is registered (in use on the named computer) or waiting registration (free to use on any computer);
  • the computer it is registered to;
  • its maintenance (support) expiry date.

If your email address is held against a company account, you see all of that company's licences, not only those registered to your own address. Anything belonging to a colleague is labelled with their name.

Use Edit on a seat to record the name and email address of the person using it.

Freeing a seat

If you are no longer using UPDD on a computer, you can free its seat so that it can be registered on another computer.

  1. Uninstall UPDD from the computer you are retiring. Do this first: releasing a seat while UPDD is still installed and running can leave that computer holding on to the registration.
  2. Sign in to My Touch-Base and open the Licences tab.
  3. Find the seat for that computer and click Release, then Yes, release it.

The seat immediately shows as waiting registration and can be registered on any other computer with the same licence key. Each seat can be released a limited number of times in any 12 months; if the Release button is unavailable, the seat has reached that limit and you should contact us.

Moving a licence to a new computer

  1. On the old computer, uninstall UPDD (Windows: Add or remove programs → UPDD → Uninstall; macOS: run the UPDD uninstaller).
  2. In My Touch-Base, release the seat registered to the old computer, as described above.
  3. Install UPDD on the new computer and register it with the same licence key. The freed seat attaches to the new computer. See Driver registration.

Your downloads

Every UPDD driver we have built for you has a permanent link, and they are all listed on the Downloads tab. Each download shows its UPDD version, operating system, the controllers it includes and when it was built. Click Open on any download to go to its page.

  • Download it again. If the file is still on our servers, click Download.
  • Rebuild it. Built files are kept on our servers for a few days. If yours has been removed, click Rebuild my download: we build the same driver to the same specification and email you when it is ready, on the same link.
  • Get the latest version. When a newer UPDD release is available for your driver, the page shows a Get the latest version panel. If your maintenance covers that release, click Download latest and we email you a new permanent link. If it does not, the page explains your options, including extending your maintenance.

If your email address is held against a company account, you also see drivers sent to your colleagues, each labelled with their name.

Licence keys issued before July 2026

In July 2026 we upgraded our licensing system to keep your keys safe, and licence keys now use a new format. UPDD 7.1.228 and above accepts the new keys during registration. Older versions of UPDD do not accept them directly: download and run the UPDD Licence tool instead.

UPDD 7.1.228 was released on 4 August 2026 and works with licences whose maintenance was current on that date. If your maintenance had already expired and you want to use 7.1.228 or above, you can extend it from My Touch-Base when viewing your licence keys, or on our purchase page.
